Prayer and Thanksgiving 

Sharing 12/2/10

Things to note:
  • Service this week will be Friday at 7.30pm
  • Cell will be held on Monday at 3.30pm
  • Church camp this June: 14th-18th June
  • CD Promotion:
    - 5th March: Baptist Choice rehearsal @ 9.45pm-10.15pm
    - 27th March: Combined Youth Rally. Pray for an opportunity to play a song from the album
    - 28th March: New Life Baptist Church combine worship
  • Pastor thanked God that his angle is fine now, as it was heavily stressed during a wall-painting session.
  • Eunice gave thanks for the safe trip despite strenuous weather, and also for her work that went smoothly and was enjoyable. She's also taken up a teaching diploma for piano. Pray for her as she works on her assignments. Pray also for Shawn and Lee Huat as they are not feeling well.
  • Serene is planning for her upcoming summer holidays and is deciding between China, Korea and Turkey for her teaching stint. Pray for guidance as she has to make a decision by the end of the week. Pray with her too as she seeks the Lord in her career path.
  • Pray for Anisia as she handles her challenging class. Pray for God to help her discipline the students. She thanked God for the boy who went for anger management sessions and is calmer now.
  • Pray for Beck and her family for a place to move into.
  • Tian will be going to Kedah with her family for CNY. Pray for journey mercy and safekeeping. She also thanked God that her school schedule was not disrupted by the trip.
  • Vinson thanked God for the completion of his school project. He's currently brainstorming for ideas and inspiration for his iPad project. He will be having exams this Wed (10/2) and also during the following week.
  • Emmanuel will be sitting for 4 tests on Monday. Pray with him for God's strength as he copes with his heavy load of projects for his Media programme.
  • Pray with Uncle Derrick and his team of consultants for successful implementation in their work. Continue to pray with him too for God's direction with regards to his future career.
  • XiuXiu will be going to malaysia for CNY from Thursday to Sunday (10 days!). She gave thanks to God for the great provision of a room near an MRT station.

  • Thank God for His favour, providing Jo a teaching position with a subject she is comfortable with.
  • Thank God for opening doors during Pastor’s sharing for the CD promotion; continue to pray over the events:
    • Calvary Baptist Church: team worship. Sunday, 31 Jan, 8.45am-9.30am
    • International Baptist Church’s choral festival’s final rehearsal worship and praise session Friday, 5 Mar, 9.45pm-10.15pm
    • 27th March Baptist Youth Rally: Presenting one song from our album. Jon is involved playing the acoustic guitar
  • Keep Gina in prayer as she isn’t feeling well.
  • Pray for Beck’s family as they search for a new place. Pray for God’s providence.
  • Continue to pray for Vinson and his team as they work on their website as they work towards its completion.
  • Continue to pray for Uncle Derrick’s team as they work on their proposal.
  • Xiu Xiu will be having a 3-day company retreat this Friday in Malacca. Pray for her safekeeping.
  • Thank God for healing Marsha’s cough.

Prayer and Thanksgiving

  • Church camp this June 2010 in Subang, KL (tentative plans)
  • Pray for pastor as he’ll be sharing and promoting the CD at a pastoral meeting this Wednesday 20th Jan. Pray for words from the Lord, and that hearts will be opened to purchase the CD.
  • Thank God that Jo is settled and enjoying life in NY. Pray with her as she still has 2 papers to complete.
  • Pray for Anisia that God will provide her the wisdom to handle a child in her class. Anisia thanked God too that her iPhone was saved.
  • Pray for Mich’s sister as she flies to China (Sunday morning). Mich's 2 week attachment was very interesting. Pray for her that she will remain unaffected by work situations and that God will grant her peaceful slumber.
  • Pray for Eunice’s family as they fly to Shanghai for a work-and-holiday trip. Keep Eunice’s health in prayer as well.
  • Shu thanked God for a good time to rest and relax at Batam. Thank God too for helping her as she faced unpleasant situations at training. Pray for her team as they prepare for their competition next week. She also thanked God for the modules that she got.
  • Beck thanked God for the modules for the semester. Beck shared about the terrible Thursday, and thanked God who tide her through it and enabled her to deliver her lesson properly. Pray also for her Aunt as her condition is deteriorating.
  • Pray for Marsha’s cough that God will heal her. Pray for her mother too that God will keep her safe and in health.
  • Keep Vinson and his team in prayer as they work on their project.
  • Uncle Derrick thanked God that his friend could offer him help in his work. Continue to pray for him as God leads him in his path ahead.

  • Mich is starting her attachment this week.
  • Serene and Charlie are off next week to HK for a short trip. Pray for safe journey and an enjoyable trip.
  • Serene thanked God that she has been promoted to her Honours year. And also that she has gotten the modules she needed.
  • Beck and Weijie are home safe from Chiangmai. They are thankful that God provided a way home in time for watchnight service. And also for a fruitful and memorable trip.
  • Beck thanked God also for financial providence.
  • Keep Weijie in prayer for his health, as he isn't feeling too well.
  • Pray for Uni students as they go through the bidding period, that they will be able to bid for good modules.
  • Pray for Shaun as he begins school this week.
  • Keep Eunice in prayer as she has a trip to China early this month, and also for her to be able to get tickets for the family to go along.
  • Jon has to complete many assignments this week. Keep him in prayer as he tackles a packed and busy week.
  • Continue to pray for Uncle Derrick and his colleague as they adjust to their new boss, pray for good rapport between them. Also pray with his team for business and projects. Continue to pray also for God’s direction for Uncle Derrick.

  • Jo is settling in well. Keep her in prayer as she is working through 2 submissions this week. Thank God too for her healing.
  • Pray for Victoria as she has stomach flu due to the after effects of medication.
  • Uncle Derrick is also recovering from gastric flu. Continue to pray for the healing and restoration of his health. Pray for adjustments as he works with his next boss, and that he/she will be a good boss. Pray also for Uncle D as he seeks God's direction in his professional path.
  • Pray for Samuel for the healing of his rash.
  • Vinson thanked God that his exams are over. Pray with him for direction as he deliberates whether to continue in the world skills competition.
  • Keep Rebecca and Weijie as they travel to Chiang Mai (20th-30th Dec).
  • Keep Ellyna in prayer for the healing of her headache and her health. Also pray with her for sustenance at work.
  • Pray for Jon as he works through intensive filming projects these 2 weeks. Pray particularly for good weather. Jon also gave thanks for a small miracle as God provided him transport home even though he thought he'd missed the last bus home.
  • Tian and Shu have officially signed on as teachers.
  • Mich Tay gave thanks as she is happy with her job and the opportunities. She praised God for the christian fellowship she shares with her colleagues and also for the bible study group that she and her friend are starting.
  • Aunty Grace has gone back to work. Pray for her as she deals with stress and assignments that are to be completed. Pray also that the headache from her H1N1 jab will subside.

Prayer and Thanksgiving

Announcement!
Joshua’s 3rd birthday party on the 13th of Dec, at Dan and Ani’s place, 1pm.

  • Gary, Nicholas, and Aaron are off fishing at the kelong. Pray for safety and fellowship in faith.
  • Uncle Derrick’s family is in San Francisco now. Pray for them as they travel to NY and meet Jo. Pray for safekeeping and for their health and a good time of family bonding.
  • Pray for Daniel as he hasn’t been feeling too well, probably due to stress.
  • Shu wants to thank God that her online purchase (a gift from her mom) has arrived! She thought that it was lost in transition. Pray for her as she’s going for grading on Sunday. Pray that God’s grace and favour will be upon her. (she passed!) She also lost her handphone. Pray that she will be provided with a working handphone.
  • Thank God that the printing company was able to deliver the CDs to the church on Wednesday. Continue to pray in faith for the sales of the CD. Pray also for those who listen to the music, that they will be blessed by the music.
  • Lingwei is spending a month with Jo. Pray for a wonderful experience and a good time of fellowship for the both of them. Thank God that Jo is able to sleep well now (: and also for providing Jo and Lingwei with some extra cash through an ad hoc job.
  • Pray for Serene’s last paper on Monday. Pray with her as it is one of her most stressful paper.
  • Keep Charlie in prayer as he is not feeling well.
  • Pray for Anisia as she has to rewrite a syllabus. Pray that God will grant her the strength and wisdom to manage the stress well and do a good job.
  • Mich Tay gave thanks that she is well and is kept healthy even though her colleagues have been falling ill. She gave thanks too that she passed her IPPT well.
  • Linda passed her driving!
  • Rebecca and Wei Jie will be going to an orphanage in Chiang Mai this Christmas.
  • Ellyna thanked God for providing even though her flight was delayed on her way home to Jakarta, as she got an air ticket for a very good price. Her week was tough at work as many were on leave. She thanked God that He provided strength, wisdom, and miracles for her at work despite the very stressful conditions.
  • Pray for McKen as he’s running a marathon on Sunday. Pray that his knee will recover and be well rested.
  • Pray for Aunty Elsie as she’s going for an eye check on Monday. Pray that the review will be positive and informative.
  • Tian gave thanks for a job provision.
  • Continue to keep Pastor in prayer for his ankle, as pain has been acting up recently.

Prayer and Thanksgiving

  • Keep Ellyna in prayer as she is now in Jakarta.
  • Pray for Darren as he recovers from his accident. Pray for God’s healing to be upon him.
  • Give thanks that God has provided divinely for Joanna with a really nice apartment and also for her lifted spirits.
  • Pray that the CD can be released on the 3rd of Dec.
  • Shu thanked God that her examinations are over! She thanked God for seeing her through, and that this semester is over, for providing people around who carried her through with practical and emotional support. Pray for her wrist too, that it will heal before her Kendo grading next week.
  • Continue to keep the university students in prayer as their examinations continue.
  • Pray for Aunty Grace as she continues to travel. Thank God that her work objectives were met at her first two destinations. Pray that her last leg of work will be fruitful as well. Pray for her health and safety.
  • Uncle Derrick is feeling much better than last week. But there is still pain along his left arm. Pray that the cold will not affect it, and that his arm will be healed.
  • Pray for Emmanuel as he is still not recovered from his bad throat.
  • Continue to pray for Samuel as he continues to strive as a student and a child of God.
  • Serene’s laptop was accidentally short circuited. Pray that it will be restored.
  • Eunice thanked God for the safe trip, and for God’s protection as they journeyed to and fro from Genting. She gave thanks that there was no rain along mountainous roads.
